At CK, our most valuable asset is our personnel. Our principal Mike Kelley is involved in all aspects of project performance. In addition to managing the firm, he is involved in all test programs performed by CK staff. Our Senior Project Managers average over 20 years of emissions testing experience. Our experience and knowledge of testing methods, and excellent working relationships with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies, enable us to offer cost-effective testing strategies that less experienced firms cannot.

Ale Kuncaitis

Project Engineer

Ale Kuncaitis has been with CK since 2011. Her primary project responsibilities include managing the quality of CKs document production, including the review of data generated during testing programs for completeness and accuracy. She also prepares protocol and reports for all testing programs. In addition, Ale will help with testing programs and provide analysis of samples. Ms. Kuncaitis earned her Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Merrimack College.

Karen Ciriello

Office Manager

Karen Ciriello has been the office manager of CK since 2001 and is experienced in administrative management, collections, customer service, and human resource management. Prior to joining CK Environmental, Inc., Ms. Ciriello worked with financial institutions such as Bank Boston and Putnam Investments. Ms. Ciriello earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration at the College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY.

Kevin Kelley, QSTI

Project Manager & Technical Manager

Kevin Kelley has been with CK since 2006 and had twenty-five years of prior experience in environmental testing and engineering. As a CK Project Manager, Kevin is responsible for preparing emissions testing protocols for regulatory agency approval prior to compliance test programs, he performs and manages testing programs and prepares final reports. In addition, Kevin develops air emissions testing opportunities and prepares proposals for clients throughout the northeast U.S.

As CK’s Technical Manager, Kevin has overall responsibility for the technical operations of CK. He is knowledgeable of all test methods that CK performs and oversees CK’s employee training program.

Kevin holds an M.S. in Applied Management from Lesley College, Cambridge, MA. His program thesis was entitled "Development of a Proposal to Improve the Quality of Service and Reduce Costs within a Professional Services Organization." He graduated with a B.S. in Environmental Engineering Technology from Norwich University, Northfield, VT, in 1980.

Michael Kelley, QSTI

President & Cofounder

Michael Kelley founded CK in 1994 and had over 6 years of prior experience in air quality engineering. Mr. Kelley’s responsibilities include scheduling and overseeing projects for continuous emissions monitoring audits, electronic data reports (EDR), NOx budget plans, NPDES water discharge tests and permits, and monitoring system audits and repairs. Mr. Kelley has a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering technology from Wentworth Institute of Technology and a Masters in Business Administration from Suffolk University.

Michael Unterweger, QTSI

Project Manager

Michael Unterweger has been with CK since 1995 and has experience building, operating, and auditing continuous monitoring systems. He schedules and supervises source assessment services: certifications, custom designs, and installations, cylinder gas audits (CGAs), maintenance and repairs: cleaning & refurbishing, opacity monitor calibrations, particulate matter (PM) determination, relative accuracy test audits, and visible emissions opacity determination. Mr. Unterweger earned his Bachelor of Science degree in marine engineering from Massachusetts Maritime Academy.

As CK’s QA/QC Manager, Michael has overall responsibility for all quality control procedures at CK. He is in constant contact with the highest levels of management to ensure that all staff is following all quality control measures set forth by EPA and CK.

Robert Ciriello, QSTI

Environmental Specialist

Robert Ciriello has been with CK since 2010. Mr. Ciriello has experience in stack testing and analyzing air quality. He regularly performs U.S. EPA source sampling methods and the EPA methods for continuous emissions monitoring, as well as, oversees in-house equipment maintenance. Mr. Ciriello earned his Bachelors of Science in Business Management at Westfield State University.

Stephen Phillips

Senior Project Manager

Stephen Phillips has been with CK since 2000 and brings with him 25 previous of air quality testing and consulting experience. He regularly manages emissions compliance projects for fossil fuel-fired power plants, municipal waste combustors, medical and pathological waste incinerators, and various controlled and uncontrolled manufacturing processes. In addition to working at over a hundred facilities throughout the United States, he has completed test programs in Asia. Mr. Phillips holds degrees in Science & Technology from Essex Agricultural and Technical Institute and has attended numerous seminars in environmental science, including: new source performance standards (NSPS) emissions testing, nitrous oxide (NOx) reasonable achievable control technology (RACT), organic compound emissions testing, and U.S. EPA Title V emissions inventories.
